Patricia "Patty" Regnier

Patricia "Patty" Ann Regnier, 71, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Friday April 28, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the only daughter of seven, born to Harley and Marjorie (Henson) Lackey on September 16, 1951, in Kankakee. Patty married the love of her life, Steven P. Regnier Sr. at her pastor's home, in Kankakee, on July 10, 1970. Patty had been a long-time member of People's Church in Kankakee. Patty was a homemaker and stay at home mom for the majority of her life. She spent a lot of time with her children as, to her, they were the best part of her and her husband. She loved being a grandmother and great grandmother as well. Patty enjoyed selling items at flea markets and was a bird breeder for several years. She had several hobbies such as fishing, hiking, crafting, sewing, garage sales, and collecting wind chimes. Patty was a simple woman and saw the beauty that this world had to offer, especially flowers. She was proud to have multiple flower beds throughout her yard. Patty especially enjoyed sitting in her yard with her husband. All wildlife was welcome in her yard, too. Patty was also a huge animal lover and has loved many cats, dogs, and birds over the years, but most know her for loving her Umbrella Cockatoo, Lenny, for 30 years. Patty is survived by her husband; one daughter, Tammy (Michael) Reaman; two sons, Steven (Melissa) Regnier Jr. and Terry Regnier; her grandchildren, Kristina (Nicholas) Szelag, Megan (Mitchell) Breckenridge, Breana, Steven, Zander, Zoe, and Chance Regnier, Alyson "Aly" Sain-Combs, Aden and Aren Villarreal, Alexis "Lexi", Ayriana, Aubre, and Thane Regnier, and Amaya Louviere; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Camden Szelag, Myles and Evelynn Breckenridge, and baby Eloise Patricia Breckenridge due in June 2023; two brothers, Jim (Sandra) Lackey and Kenneth Lackey; two sisters-in-law, Christine Regnier and Adele (Don) Mcvey; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Cheryl) and Randle (Sherry) Regnier; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Patty was especially close to her niece, Laura Mitchell. Patty also leaves behind her dearly loved eight cats, Squeaks, Angel, Cali, Stranger, Bitty, Teddy, Smokey, and Princess. Patty is preceeded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Paul and Jeral (Albright) Regnier; four brothers, Gary, Jackie, Terry, and Harley "Leon" Lackey; two sisters-in-law, Judy and Heather Lackey; one brother-in-law, Lewis Regnier; one niece; one nephew; and many fur babies.
