Judith M. (Brutlag) Jackson

Judith Mae (Brutlag) Jackson, affectionately known as Judy and cherished by many as Mema, was born on May 17, 1948, in Watseka, Illinois. On February 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, Judy peacefully went to be with the Lord in Papineau, Illinois, the place she called home. On May 11, 1968, Judy married the love of her life, Robert Jackson, in Papineau, beginning a beautiful journey that spanned over five decades. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and memories, raising three wonderful children: Scott (Renee) Jackson, Ronnie (Kim) Jackson, and Stacy (Jason) Charbonneau. Judy’s heart knew no bounds, and her love extended to her bonus children, Theopolis “Topper” Davis and Angela (Jim) Frary. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support created a bond that will forever be treasured. Judy’s heart and home were always full, not only with her children but with her spunky little four-legged companions, Sophie and Patsy, who could always be found nestled by her side in her favorite rocking chair. Judy’s greatest joy in life was her role as Mema. She was the proud grandmother of Jacob (Jessica) Jackson, Boe (Alexas) Jackson, Miranda (Jacob) Jackson, Thomas Mitchell, Michael Mitchel, Lillian Mitchell, Dustin (Nadia) Jackson, Janice Jackson, Zackary (Kristine) Charbonneau, Katelynn (Brett) Duby, and Logan (Nicole) Charbonneau. Her love extended even further to her precious great-grandchildren: Waylon, Paisley, Kinsley, Hayvin, Thomas Jr., Henry, Natalee, and Rylee. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her legacy of love will carry on through them. Judy is survived by siblings Gerald Brutlag and Lois Mowrey; siblings-in-law, Joyce Brutlag, Iris Brutlag, Cecilia Brutlag, David (Debbie) Jackson, and Shelia (Ance) Floriant. Additionally, Judy leaves to cherish her memory numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Sena Brutlag; siblings, Norman Brutlag, LuVern Brutlag, Rick Brutlag, Kenneth Brutlag, and Joyce Bullock; great-grandson, Brantley, siblings-in-law, Royce Bullock, Bob Mowrey, Elaine Brutlag, Brian Jackson, Alan Jackson, and Kenneth Floriant. For 24 remarkable years, Judy was a dedicated bank teller at the National Bank of St. Anne. Her warm smile and kind spirit made her a familiar and beloved face to customers who became friends. Beyond her professional life, Judy’s passion for cooking and baking brought comfort and joy to her family. Her home was always filled with the aroma of freshly baked cookies, and her grandchildren will forever cherish the sweet memories of entering Mema’s house to find her kitchen always full of treats waiting just for them. Holiday gatherings were always at Mema’s house, where love and laughter filled every corner. Her home was the heart of family celebrations, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever. Judy’s legacy of love lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, St. Anne. A luncheon will immediately follow. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
