Wanda Lou Ohrt

Wanda Lou Ohrt, 72, of Kankakee, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her home. She was born November 28, 1949 in Kankakee the daughter of Wendell and Viola (Garreau) Lambert. On May 14, 1971 she married Thomas Ohrt in Kankakee. She was a loving homemaker and a member of Open Bible Church. She loved gardening and helping others. She also enjoyed traveling to Tucson, Arizona to spend time with her family. Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Amanda Ohrt of Kankakee; a brother, Bo Lambert of Herscher; a sister, Darlene LeClair of Kankakee; brothers-in-law, Rex Ohrt of Tucson, Arizona, Fritz Ohrt of Green Valley, Arizona, John Ohrt of Kankakee, and Richard Ohrt of Vilonia, Arkansas; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ohrt; a son, Duane Ohrt; her parents, Wendell and Viola Lambert; a sister, Joyce Ohrt; two brothers, Marvin Lambert and Ron Tjarks. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Open Bible Church, Kankakee from 9am until the funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow in Limestone Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
