Tommy "Jody" Browning

June 29, 1946 - April 24, 2022

Tommy Joe “Jody” Browning, 75, of Bradley, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at his home. He was born June 29, 1946 in Hardin County, Illinois the son of Hubert and Gladys (Hooven) Browning. He worked for Bennett Industries, Kroehler, and Cleveland Steele for many years, and enjoyed his retirement. On December 29, 1993 he married Nicole “Nicky” Guillette in Kankakee. Tommy was an avid junker and jokester. He enjoyed donating to the less fortunate and feeding his birds and squirrels. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, John (Karen) Shott; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (James) Soucie, Sue (Douglas) Lyon, and Tina Browning Torres and Jason; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, William “Bill” (Lynn) Browning; his friends, Danny and Gloria who the family would like to give a special thank you to. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nicky Browning; his parents; as well as 10 brothers and sisters. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm at Jensen Funeral Home, Kankakee. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11am in Aroma Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations be given to Uplifted Care.
