Shirley Ann Jordan, 69, of Kankakee area, formerly of Bigbee Valley, MS and Dayton, OH, passed away on January 26, 2019 at Presence St. Mary's Hospital. She was born April 9, 1949 of the late Walter and Dorothy Mae Jordan. She is survived by her one and only son Walter J. Jordan and his wife Nicole of Bradley, IL; Shirley had five grandchildren: Anthony Jordan, Dontario Brooks, Jesslyn Jordan Radke, Arington Jordan, and Mackenzie Jordan; as well as, nine great-grandchildren. Surviving are three brothers, Johnny and Bessie Jordan of Columbus, MS; L.M. Jordan of Kalamazoo, MI; James and Devorha Anderson Jr. of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Ms. Rosie Jordan of South Bend, IN; Georgia Brown of Kalamazoo, MI; Helen Jordan of Atlanta, GA; Armegene Hampton of Cleveland, OH; two play sisters/cousins; May Francis of St. Louis, MO and Ruthie Dell of Brooksville, MS. Also surviving are a step mother, Elizabeth Jordan of Dayton, Ohio; half siblings, Howard Jordan and Ellen Douglas Jordan of Dayton, Ohio; Michelle Jordan Armstrong, Mike Armstong, Sister Tracey Jordan, and Brother Chris Jordan; some close beloved friends, Cindy Guingrich, Gina Nolan, Camille Nolan, Darian Jackson, Alyssa Vann; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Dorothy Mae; her two brothers, Albert Anderson and Willie Tate; and a companion, J.W. Anderson. Shirley loved her family and friends so very much. She also loved to babysit and the colors red and purple. She had a great influence on the children she cared for and they have all grown up to be very successful people. Shirley enjoyed shopping, cooking, and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with family and always ended her conversations with “I love you”. She will be missed dearly.
