Harry D. Kooyenga Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harry D. Kooyenga, age 76 passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Riverside Medical Center. Harry loved his country and proudly served during the Korean War in the Army, Private First Class E-3 Infantry. He was a resident of Peotone, IL. He was born in Evergreen Park IL to Drewes Kooyenga and Evelyn (Nelson) Kooyenga on May 26, 1942. He is survived by his wife Nancy ( Fredin ) Kooyenga, who he married at St. Peters UCC in Frankfort, IL Also surviving are his daughter, Trisha Scarbro of Momence, IL and his grandson. Steven Scarbro of Momence, IL Harry, retired from being a UPS driver, Local Union #710 He was an avid builder and flyer of model airplanes. He also had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, which he loved riding his. Proceeding him in death are his parents. A Military Full Honors Service will be held 12:30pm, Monday, July 30, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 West Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL 60421. If you would like to attend the service be sure to get there 15 min prior. At 12:15. Just Park in the parking lot and wait for workers to get you all lined up. After the service at the cemetery the family is inviting anyone at the service to lunch at the Silver Dollar Restaurant, 422 E. Mississippi Ave Elwood, IL 60421 about a mile away from the cemetery.
