John Jay Mazzuchi

John Jay Mazzuchi, 82, of Bradley passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Ascension-St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. He was born on February 13, 1940 in Kankakee, the son of Americus Dominic and Marie Mae (Butler) Mazzuchi. On April 08, 1961, he married Sandra Kay Witham at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kankakee. John was a 1959 graduate of Bradley High School, a union-journeyman meat cutter for Local 871, a blood donor for the American Red Cross and a volunteer for the Civil Defense/Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department-Auxiliary Police. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. He was a life-time member of Exline Sportsman’s Club, Bradley-Bourbonnais Sportsman’s Club, Masonic Lodge #389 of Kankakee, Scottish Rite Danville Lodge and Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department-Auxiliary Police/Civil Defense. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his many guitars, watching westerns, HAM radio operator but most of all he loved John Wayne, Johnny Cash and doing things with his family. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay (Witham) Mazzuchi of Bradley; five daughters, Christine Mazzuchi of Bradley, Angela (Henry) Fry of Martinton, Madonna (Brian) Zasada, Sr. of Kankakee, Daniella (George A.) Harris of Bradley and Tina (Crabtree) Mazzuchi of Bourbonnais; sister, Mary (Steve) LaFrance of Bourbonnais; sister-in-law, Jeannie M. Darr of Kankakee; grandchildren, Brian (Lyndsay) Zasada, Jr., Elizabeth (Brandon) Mathais, Jessica Pangle, Brandon (Tiffany) Zasada, Anthony Mazzuchi, Hayley Crabtree, Samantha (Ryan) Nolan, Kacey (Craig) Phillips, Hannah Crabtree, George Harris III; seventeen great-grandchildren with the eighteenth due March 2023; two great-great grandchildren with the third due March 2023; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Brian Mazzuchi and special friends, Nancy and Gretchen Kietzman. John is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Johanna Williams; brother, James R. Mazzuchi, Sr.; grandson, Nicholas B. Pangle; son-in-law Robert Nicodemus; great granddaughter, Maggie Hope Faith Anderson; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Visitation for John Jay Mazzuchi will be held January 14, 2023 from 10:00AM-11:00AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley with Masonic Rites. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00AM with Father Marcin Michalik and Deacon Greg Clodi officiating. Memorials can be made to the family wishes.
