James Clark Bruton JR

Remembering James (AKA Squeaky) Clark Bruton JR James Clark Bruton JR was born on December 13, 1952 to the union of Delores McClellan and James Bruton at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. James was the 4th oldest of six children. James attended Donovan High School in Donovan, Illinois, and completed his diploma and attended The University of Hawaii which he received his Associates in Science, Recreational Instructor. He went on to join the United States Marine Corps serving as Motor Vehicle Dispatcher earning several honorable awards, including Superior Performance of the Duties as Motor Vehicle Dispatcher, Certification of Special Art, Federal Length of Service Award, The Meritorious Unit Commendation, and Rifle Marksman Badge. James married Marsha Loretta (deceased) and had a long time girlfriend, Etta Taylor. James loved music and played a plethora of instruments, his favorite being the bongo drums. He also loved fitness and played basketball and studied Karate. Over the course of his life he coached a variety of youth sports teams and he enjoyed cooking, listening to Motown favorites and grassroots blues, celebrating life with close family members. James will be remembered as one of the funniest, tell-it-like-it-is, shoot-from-the-hip, honorable, community friend, uncle, and father. He will forever love his family, children, and grandchildren. James was preceded in death: Wife Marsha Loretta Bruton, his mother Delores Jones, his father James Bruton, and his stepfather Melvin Jones; his great aunt and uncle, Hazel and Gus Maddox; his brother Earl (Pepper) Bruton; his sister Gloria (Dean) Calvin and brother-in-law James Calvin (deceased); two aunts Nancy Brown and Carrie Wilson; and mother-in-law Lena Powell James leaves to mourn: Three daughters and one son, Reeshema Welch, Lisa Bruton Tellier, James Bruton JR, and Jenny Bruton; one son-in-law Neil Tellier; one daughter-in-law Jasmine Bruton; three grandsons, Trey Hadley, Jaylon Bruton, and AnDante Tellier; two granddaughters Alice Tellier and Cadence Desmond; two brothers Melvin Jones and Anthony Jones; one sister Lela Linnear and one brother-in-law Jonathan Linnear; 2 sister-in-laws, Alicia Jones, Robben Jones; his aunt Elsie Miles; Nieces and Nephews, Yolanda Blackwell, Monique Eggleston, James Calvin, Melvina Edwards, Dorian Linnear, Lamar Linnear, Anothony Jones JR, Aaron Mitchell; and a host of cousins, great-nieces, nephews, and friends.
