Colette Ann Temen

Colette Ann Temen age 61 peacefully passed away December 4, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at her home in Watseka, IL. She was born on March 3, 1963 to Lorraine (Krause) and Raymond Fobes in Chicago, Illinois. After she graduated from Richards Vocational High School in 1981, she went on to study Beauty and Cosmotology at Paul Mitchell. Colette leaves behind her five children; Jennifer Temen of Watseka, Craig Temen of Watseka, Kenneth (Amanda) Temen of Watseka, Amanda Temen of Watseka, and Samantha (Noah) Fierstein of Frankfort. She is also survived by her four loving grandchildren Colyn Temen of Watseka, Destiney Burdick of Milford, Violet Temen of Watseka, and Oaklynn Dietchweiler of Frankfort. She will also be remembered by her Nieces and Nephews; Matthew Fobes of Cicero, Michelle (Mark) Fobes of Cicero, Joseph Ciesla of Watseka, Jessica Ciesla of Watseka, and Great Nephew Andrew Ciesla of Watseka. She will also be mourned by her beloved friend; Linda Ciesla of Watseka. Colette loved spending her free time with her grandchildren. She could spend whole days watching Christmas and Hallmark movies. She loved arts and crafts and making things for people. Every birthday and Holiday, you could expect something handmade from Colette. In the last few years, she found a new love for diamond art paintings. She would sit at the kitchen table some days until 4 or 5 am just working on them. She even got her Nieces into them, and they would have competitions over who could finish them faster. Colette had an obsession with coffee. She used to tell everyone that she drank enough water, as she would drink pots of coffee in a day and that counted as water. Even in her last moments she would randomly yell that she wanted coffee. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She used to make “Barbie cakes” for special celebrations such as her kid's graduations, and her dream was to one day open up a bakery. She also loved to sing and dance. She would blast her favorite artist Cher and dance around the kitchen; during the holidays she would play Christmas music and decorate the entire house, leaving no open space bare of decorations. Colettes death left so many people heartbroken. She was an amazing person, friend, and mother. She touched more people's lives than she realized just by being herself. She took in many of her daughter's friends as her own and played a huge part in their lives. She was selfless and giving, right up until her very last breath. She might not have had much, but she would give everything to anyone. Proceeding her in death are her parents, along with all five of her siblings. Thomas Fobes, Patrick Fobes, Michael (Marie) Fobes, Peggy (Mike) Soglin, twin sister Judy Fobes, and lifelong friend Cora Ciesla. In honor of her final wishes Colette will be cremated and shared between her loved ones. There will be a Christmas themed celebration of life in honor of Colette Sunday, December 15, 2024. Services will take place at Silo in Watseka from 3-6pm. We ask that anyone that plans on coming, to please wear their favorite Christmas outfit in memory of Colette's favorite time of the year.
